Kenny Sills was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended South East Missouri State University, where he studied Creative Writing as well as Philosophy and Theology. During his college life, he began studying martial arts in his free time under Julian Sims. After college, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he furthered his martial arts education under Tim Mousel for five years. Kenny moved back to St. Louis in 1999 after meeting his future wife on a family vacation at Disney World in Florida. Back in St. Louis, he opened Ohana Martial Arts and became an instructor to typically developing individuals as well as people with special needs.
