The author studied at Northwestern College Conservatory, where he concentrated on classical composition and conducting. He is also the founder and lead singer of Murphey’s Midnight Rounders, an acoustic/power folk band that has a mix of elements including rock, country, and Celtic music styles. He is a scholar of ancient traditions and devoted to passing on the knowledge he has learned. He has also written a children’s poetry book, A Child’s Garden of Futhark or Poems for little Berserkers.
